Age-specific perceptual image quality assessment

With the development of image-based applications, assessing quality images has become increasingly important. Although our perception image changes as we age, most existing assessment (IQA) metrics make simplifying assumptions about age observers, thus limiting their use for age-specific applications. In this work, propose a personalized IQA metric to assess perceived observers from different groups. Firstly, apply an simulation algorithm compute how observer with particular would perceive given image. More specifically, process input according contrast sensitivity function (CSF), which predicts reduction visibility associated aging eye. We combine calculate score. To validate effectiveness combined model, conducted psychophysical experiment in controlled laboratory environment young (18-31 y.o.), middle-aged (32-52 and older (53+ y.o.) adults, measuring preferences 84 test images. Our analysis shows that predictions by are well correlated collected subjective results experiment.
